Standard Computers
Cincinnati, Ohio
The tools and content we use online are scattered across dozens of apps and companies. They are convenient, but the tradeoff is clear: we are not in control.
Standard Computers was created to change that. The idea is straightforward: your digital life should run on a computer you own, the internet should be a relay, and a proprietary device should not be required.
The Standard System is a server-based app that brings personal computing back under your control. Installed on your own computer, it becomes the central hub for your data as opposed to scattered cloud services. It uses standards to identify objects like files and notes. It has its own database and coding language, standard coding, to structure data consistently so everything works naturally across applications.
Connectivity is handled through relays, allowing devices and systems to communicate. Users can run their own relay or connect through a public one, enabling synchronization without centralized platforms. By standardizing data, systems, and the relationships between records, the Standard System re-envisions how we interact with technology.
